Carl Starfelt turned to Instagram after unpleasantries on his holiday flight to Ibiza.

On Saturday the defender was enjoying the acclaim of 60,000 fans as he took a lap of honour after helping Celtic win the SPFL Premiership title on the back of a 31 match unbeaten run.

Twenty-four hours later things were a little different as he found himself the subject of abuse as he headed out for some sunshine in the company of his free-scoring team-mate Jota.

The Daily Record reports:

Another clip shows Jota leaving the airport as one fan is heard shouting: “Jota, did you ask big Calvin Bassey if you could come on this holiday? Did he let you out his pocket for the night?”

The same fan claims Carl Starfelt was also on the flight although he isn’t pictured.

With around 50,000 Ibrox fans heading to Seville over the next couple of days airborne Celtic players will need to be careful about their flights to the sun after winning a title that they were written off for at the start of the season.

Starfelt made his Celtic debut on the opening day of the season when the hoops lost 2-1 to Hearts at Tynecastle in a match refereed by Bobby Madden.

Two more SPFL defeats followed before Celtic set off on a 31 match unbeaten run that culminated in the sunshine scenes on Saturday afternoon.

Around midnight Starfelt took to Instagram.
