Celtic are reported to be showing interest in signing Ryan Mmaee from Ferencvaros.

The 24-year-old Moroccan plays mainly as a striker but has also been used on the left with his details catching the attention of Ange Postecoglou’s recruitment team.

Mmaee came off the bench in the second half when Celtic beat Ferencvaros 2-0 at home in the Europa League then played the full match when Celtic won 3-2 in Hungary.

With two years left on his contract the forward won’t be available on the cheap with this summer’s transfer window offering Ferencvaros the chance to sell for maximum value.

The Daily Record reports:

Premiership champions Celtic are on the chase of red-hot Ferencvaros striker Ryan Mmaee.

Record Sport understands the Moroccan international has emerged on their radar in recent months – with extensive data analysis undertaken.

The 24-year-old grabbed 19 goals for the Hungarian champions amid a host of eye-catching displays on route to title glory.

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou is keen to add more firepower ahead of their return to the Champions League following a five-year absence.

Mmaee has impressed this season and his versatility will appeal with experience of playing from the left side.

Kyogo Furihashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis finished the season competing for the one striking role as Celtic clinched the SPFL title with both netting doubles in the 6-0 Presentation Day win over Motherwell.

Muscling in front of that duo would be a tall order but Celtic’s reported interest might suggest that a two man strike force could be deployed.
