Chris Jullien has sent an Instagram message to Ismaila Soro.

Last Saturday both players were picking up SPFL winners medals but were very much in the background as Celtic lifted the title with a new look squad under Ange Postecoglou.

Jullien never made any appearances in the SPFL with Soro starting just one match with the last of his seven substitute appearances coming in February when Celtic won the Glasgow Derby 3-0.

Both players were signed during the 2019/20 season under Neil Lennon with Jullien scoring the only goal of the League Cup Final and impressing against Lazio as Celtic won home and away.

With a year left on his Celtic contract there is uncertainty over what happens next with the Frenchman. Soro has two years left on his Celtic deal but after three midfielders were signed in January it is hard to see a way back into Postecoglou’s First XI with the likelihood being that both men have played their last matches for Celtic.

It’s a shame what happened with Julien, a very promising talent that went by the wayside because of an injury, and then being kept out of the team because others were making their mark in the championship run in. We can only wish him the best for his future, I for one just wished it had been with Celtic.
