The Daily Record is reporting that Celtic have agreed personal terms on a deal to sign Cameron Carter-Vickers from Spurs.

With the two clubs apparently agreeing an option to buy when the defender moved on loan last August it would seem that everything is in place to get the deal signed off.

Fraser Wilson is the Record reporter putting the story together, not one of the big hitters with the Glasgow publisher or with a track record of breaking Celtic transfer news.

The deal could very well be in place and just awaiting the video interview and social media graphics but until that stage is reached the move will remain in the pending category.

Tonight the Daily Record reports:

Cameron Carter-Vickers has agreed personal terms with Celtic and the Hoops now have three weeks to conclude a £6million deal with Spurs before other clubs can make their move.

Record Sport can reveal the defender, who was a rock at the heart of the Hoops defence during his spell on loan last season, has his heart set on staying with the champions long term.

But the clock is ticking if Celtic want to exercise the option written into Carter-Vickers ’ loan agreement which would see them shell out an initial £6m to secure his services.

Well-placed sources have confirmed a June 15 deadline is looming before that agreement with Spurs – a price which could rise to £10m with add-ons – can be taken off the table allowing other clubs to enter the race for the US international.

Newly-promoted Premier League pair Bournemouth and Fulham are watching the situation closely and are poised to pounce.

Larry Hendry Jr has been close to the story since he broke the news last July of Celtic’s interest in the USA internationalist.

Carter-Vickers quickly became a senior figure in the Celtic defence as Ange Postecoglou’s side built the momentum that led to the SPFL title.

The defender was only on the losing side once in the SPFL, away to Livingston in September with a couple of important goal contributions, none more so than the winner at Ibrox in April.

Retaining Carter-Vickers and Jota appears to be Celtic’s first priority for the summer transfer window, after that Ange Postecoglou can be much more selective than last summer where he had to oversee an almost complete squad overhaul.
