George Square has been fenced off in anticipation of trouble following tonight’s Europa League Final.

Despite the Scottish media reports of over 100,000 bears in Seville videos and pictures from the city plus Airport numbers suggest less than half that number have made the trip.

Thousands of fans remain in Scotland with George Square expected to be under attack whatever the outcome of tonight’s match.

Last year more than £100,000 of damage was done to benches, statues and flower beds when loyal bears broke Lockdown Tier 4 restrictions in March and May to celebrate winning the behind-closed-doors SPFL title.

A council spokesperson told Football Scotland:

We have been in regular contact with Rangers in the build-up to this week’s finals. Appropriate plans are being put in place to minimise the impact of any gatherings linked to these games. Heras fencing has also been erected around the Cenotaph and the grass areas as well.

I find that high voltage electric fencing is effective against the most persistent vermin.

Costly, maybe, but worth it in the end to prevent the spread of diseases like monkeypox and zombie plagues.

    Urrrrrrr!
