The emotions of a long dramatic season were obvious on Ange Postecoglou as he spoke after last night’s SPFL title clincher away to Dundee United.
A 1-1 draw was good enough to give Celtic the title with a match to spare, thanks to a 31 match unbeaten run that no-one was predicting in September.
Three defeats in Celtic’s first six matches brought suggestions that the new hoops boss had to adapt and modify his ways to the Scottish game but the former Yokohama Marinos boss stuck firmly to his beliefs.
Crucially, led by Callum McGregor, the players bought in. There were some sore nights in the Europa League but three days after losing 4-0 at home to Bayer Leverkusen Celtic won 2-1 away to Aberdeen, their first win on the road since February.

Further wins at Motherwell and Hibs created momentum, at Ross County in December the resolve of 10 men saw Tony Ralston score deep in injury time.
Livingston was finally mastered in March but it was home and away wins in the Glasgow derby that turned the tide, throughout Postecoglou never flickered in his beliefs or trust in the squad.
After Saturday’s game against Motherwell the hoops boss can draw breath and take in what he has achieved- his Diary of the Season would make an exceptional read.
