Hammarby are reported to be searching for a replacement for Celtic bound Mohanad Jeahze.

The 25-year-old left-back is widely reported to be a target for Ange Postecoglou as the hoops boss gears up for the summer transfer window and Season Two at Celtic.

During the course of this season Liam Scales, Adam Montgomery and Boli Bolingoli have had outings at left-back but over the last two months Greg Taylor has nailed down that spot in the side.

On the other side of the defence Tony Ralston and Josip Juranovic have jousted for a place in the side with the signing of Jeahze expected to create similar competition at left-back.

With his contract expiring at the end of next year it looks Hammarby will have to sell Jeahze this summer with Swedish site Fotbal Direkt reporting on their contingency plans:

Since Hammarby recruited Mohanad Jeahze from Mjällby, the 25-year-old has gone from strength to strength.

In Bajen, he has cared for a key player and scored eight points last year. In the 2022 season, his performance has continued to be at its peak and he looks set to leave Sweden by the summer.

It was on Tuesday that The Sun in Scotland came with information that Jeahze was basically ready for Celtic. Something that sports director Jesper Jansson chose to deny.

– That’s not true. We have not heard anything from Celtic, Jansson told FotbollDirekt.se.

– I want to say that we are not in need of selling any player – but hope to keep the squad for as large parts of the season as possible.

FotbollDirekt has previously revealed that Hammarby probably wants between 2-3 million euros for the Bajen star.

Today, Sportbladet states that Hammarby has already started looking at a new left-back if Jeahze were to be sold this summer. Who or what type of player it would be is not mentioned.

Earlier this week Ange Postecoglou stated that he wanted to have new signings in place for the pre-season training camp in Austria at the start of July.
