Not a tweet- no selfies from the Celtic skipper

Callum McGregor used a Twitter Q and A to explain why he wouldn’t be joining Twitter. And he needed less than 140 characters to do so.

Across every sport a token social media account or two is looked on as being virtually essential, even if it is only to promote and push products to followers.

Like his efforts on the park McGregor deals with things using maximum efficiency, sharing pictures of his dinner, new trainers or golf clubs doesn’t appeal to the Celtic skipper.

McGregor might be light on social media accounts but isn’t short on acclaim or awards, at the weekend he added some more accolades as Celtic and PFA Scotland honoured their players of the season.

With three matches left in the club season there is one big team prize that the Celtic skipper will be looking to pick up as quickly as possible.

If Celtic beat Hearts on Saturday their points tally can’t be bettered but it will only be once they are officially out of sight that McGregor will pick up his sixth championship winners’ medal.
