Odsonne Edouard’s message to his old Celtic team mates

Odsonne Edouard has congratulated his old club on winning the SPFL title.

It seems like a lifetime ago but the Frenchman made 10 Celtic appearances before being sold to Crystal Palace on transfer deadline day.

At the same time as Edouard and Ryan Christie were moving out Ange Postecoglou made three significant signings with Giorgos Giakoumakis, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Jota signing up with all three playing a big role in securing the title.

Edouard’s role can’t be understated, in four SPFL appearances he scored against Dundee and St Mirren to match the total for the season of the highly rated Ryan Kent.

Over the previous three seasons Edouard had effectively been Celtic’s one man strike force with only a brief spell from Leigh Griffiths in early 2020 offering support.

Vakoun Bayo, Albian Ajeti and Patryk Klimala were all signed up to offer support and competition but none managed to make any worthwhile impact.

In 17 starts and nine substitute appearances for Crystal Palace Edouard has scored six goals including two against Spurs on his debut, coming off the bench in the 84th minute.
