Richard Foster is one of five players freed by Partick Thistle after the lost out to Inverness Caley Thistle in the first stage of the Premiership play-offs.
Ian McCall made the announcement this afternoon, bringing an end to a two year stint for the BBC pundit.
Foster was involved in an angry terracing exchange with a Thistle fan during the final Championship match of the season away to Ayr United. In the season just finished the 36-year-old made 32 appearances for Thistle, picking up eight bookings.
Having worked his way into the A-team at BBC Scotland alongside Steven Thompson and Kenny Miller the former Ibrox defender will have to decide over the next few weeks whether to continue the downward spiral in his playing career or take the easy option of full-time work with the state broadcaster.
Following the conclusion of our 2021/22 campaign, we can now provide an update on the first team squad with a number of players leaving the club at the end of their contracts.
Everyone at Partick Thistle Football Club wishes the departing players all the best for the future.

Richard Foster claiming he hasn’t received a call up for Scotland because he plays for St Johnstone. Are you going to tell him or am I? #Scotland #TartanArmy

Richard Foster they would be better with Jodie Foster.
Another bigot picking up a coin what a ponce.
Should sevco lose both finals him and rest of bigots in the press will still be shouting from the rooftops sevco are still the best team in Scotland for reaching 2 finals with no end product.
Bbc pundits all a comedy of errors.
