Scott Brown WON’T be involved in Saturday’s expected SPFL trophy presentation at Celtic Park.

The former Celtic skipper was denied a farewell to the fans at the end of last season and also missed out on a presentation for winning the 2019/20 title, completing Celtic’s second 9-in-a-row.

Last weekend Brown announced that he was retiring from playing which would have set up Saturday’s match as the perfect opportunity to pull the curtain down on his Celtic career.

That idea has been dismissed with the Daily Mail reporting that the fan favourite has politely declined the offer to be involved on Saturday.

Brown is reported to be on the verge of being appointed as the manager of League One Fleetwood Town.

Having played all of his football in Scotland it is a big gamble to start his managerial career in the third tier of English football but having seen at close hand what has happened to Stephen Glass and Shaun Maloney in the Scottish game it seems a risk worth taking for the most honoured Scottish footballer of this century.
