Scottish football and the commitment of playing pundits

As the SPFL season comes to a conclusion fans can expect their players to go that extra mile to deliver success, achieve the goals and targets for the season. 

Apparently the ‘business end’ of the season is underway but fans of Dundee, Partick Thistle and Falkirk might think otherwise. 

Despite winning just five of their 35 SPFL matches Dundee still have a chance of reaching the Premiership play-off with St Johnstone five points ahead with three matches left to play. 

Having let his side down with a drink-driving charge in December Charlie Adam really should be giving Dundee all of his attention. If results go the wrong way on Saturday they could be bound for the Championship with two dead rubbers left to play. 

It seems that events at Ibrox tonight are occupying the thoughts of the veteran midfielder. 

BBC Scotland viewers and listeners are probably surprised to discover that Richard Foster still plays football- some Partick Thistle fans aren’t happy with that state of affairs. 

While Thistle strives for promotion to the Premiership Fozzy seems more interested in cultivating his image as a thoughtful pundit- until someone calls him names at Somerset Park. 

Over the last month Kenny Miller has been caretaker manager of Falkirk- inbetween almost daily media appearances with Sky Sports, BBC Scotland and Radio Clyde. 

With so many other commitments the Falkirk board have decided to look elsewhere for a full-time first team manager.
