Celtic Park was a sea of colour and noise as Wednesday night turned into Thursday morning.

Denied a public trophy celebration since December 2019 the Celtic support weren’t going to miss out as Ange Postecoglou’s side completed one of the most spectacular title wins in Celtic’s history.

Starting the season in front of just 16,000 fans with a depleted squad against Midtjylland last July the odds were stacked against the Australian running solo in Europe straight from the J-League.

Celtic were knocked out of the Champions League before they had started their domestic season, they suffered three defeats in their first six SPFL matches but 6-0 wins against Dundee and St Mirren in that series of results provided some hope.

Postecoglou was unshaken, his belief total and the players bought in through a high scoring but ultimately unsuccessful Europa League group.

In December the League Cup was delivered, in January reinforcements came in and Giorgos Giakoumakis rediscovered his VVV Venlo goal touch.

Last night it all came right, the title was delivered with the players and fans enjoying the midnight show of mutual appreciation.
