Chris McKee has quit Ibrox to join the Most Successful Club in the World.

Following last season’s bizarre and fictitious celebrating across Scotland of ‘the 55’ Linfield decided to get in on the act when they celebrated their 56th league title win earlier this month.

McKee spent the second half of the season on loan at Linfield with the two clubs arranging a deal with the striker signing a two year contract.

A year ago McKee made the headlines when he was sent off for Brechin in their play-off defeat to Kelty Hearts for homophobic abuse of an opponents.

That resulted in a two match SFA suspension, after that incident and relegation out of the SPFL Brechin boss Michael Paton told The Courier:

I don’t know what Chris has said. The referee has had a word with him and said he has used some language he’s not happy with.

I don’t know what Chris has actually said because he is in a bit of a state. He’s upset and is crying. I’ve not really had a good conversation with him. I’ll have that conversation when I go back in.

I can’t believe a modern, progressive club with the most welcoming and liberal support in Ireland would sign someone like that!?!?!?!
