Sure It’s A Grand Old Team To Play For- Kenny Dalglish’s message to the Champions

As a teenager Kenny Dalglish grew up with the Lisbon Lions, helping Celtic to their first 9-in-a-row triumph through the early seventies.

Last night, at the age of 71 the Liverpool icon watched another title triumph and seemed just as excited as in the days he celebrated with Jinky, Dixie, big Billy and the legends schooled by Jock Stein.

Liverpool are currently engaged in their own title race, it appears to be slipping towards Manchester City but north of the border there was something for Dalglish, Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk to celebrate.

The SPFL and EPL are two vastly different competitions, the English version has a greater depth of quality but similar characteristics are required to deliver success over 38 matches.

Ange Postecoglou started the campaign as a distant second favourite, driven by belief in his ways and transferring that into a squad of players built up over two transfer windows he has delivered a title success that Dalglish and others are saluting.
