‘Twice the player of Ryan Kent’ ‘Trying to unsettle our players’ ‘Gees half of Morelos fantasy fee’ Daily Record Abada yarn backfires

The creative energies of the Daily Record have been fully applied to quotes from Monor Solomon. 

Who? Solomon just happens to be an Israeli internationalist playing for Shakhtar Donetsk, a club in the middle of the Europe’s biggest war-zone in the last 70 years. 

There are a multitude of question that you’d want to ask about his situation, maybe even how Ukraine are preparing for next month’s World Cup play-off against Scotland. 

Life as a 22-year-old Israeli employed by a club on Ukraine’s eastern border with Russia must be quite traumatic but in trademark fashion the Record wants to know if the Celtic squad is about to be weakened! 

Arriving last July as a teenager Liel Abada has scored a priceless 10 goals in the SPFL, if you think that is insignificant it is five times the number that Ryan Kent has delivered. 

Last night the Record reported Solomon saying:  

He’s (Abada) been an amazing success. I was very happy for him when he went to Celtic. 

I thought it was the right place for him and we can see that this season. For a 20-year-old player in his debut season to make such a campaign it is amazing. This is just the beginning. I hope to see him on bigger stages than Celtic 

How can you get a negative line out of that? Easily. ‘Liel Abada handed Celtic transfer advice as Israel teammate predicts imminent move to ‘bigger’ league’ is the headline as Mark Pirie mangles the quotes in time honoured fashion. 

Nowhere in that does Solomon predict an imminent move. What a fucking rag.
