B for Besiktas- Turkish giants set to swoop for Morelos as the clock ticks down on Ibrox escape

Alfredo Morelos could be in line for an Ibrox escape to Beskitas.

The Turkish side were first linked with the striker four years ago but with absolutely no bids coming in for the Colombian it seems that Morelos Bingo has returned to the start of the alphabet.

Clubs from China to Mexico have been keeping tabs and lining up offers without anything being delivered during nine previous transfer windows.

With a year left to run on his contract the striker is in the driving seat, able to dismiss offers to renew as the clock ticks towards January when he is free to sign a pre-contract deal to walk away for nothing.

Fanatik of Turkey reports:

The search for a new pre-season striker continues in Be?ikta? . While the black-and-whites couldn’t get the return they wanted from Weghorst, who played in the English team Burnley, they got a surprise name on their agenda. Adding Alexander Sörloth and Muleka to his list, which parted ways with Larin and Batshuayi, Black Eagle turned to Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos , who played for Glasgow Rangers. Transfer negotiations have started with the Scottish team for the striker, whose contract will expire in May 2023. Alfredo Morelos, who played in 11 matches for the Colombian A National Team, also played in Indep, Medellin and HJK Helsinki jerseys before, aired the opponent’s nets once.

The 25-year-old striker, who played in 42 games for Glasgow Rangers last season, made 19 goals, 8 assists and contributed to 27 goals. Meanwhile, the Spanish team Sevilla also aspires to Alfredo Morelos, while offering 8 million Euros to the club for the striker. (New Century)

The Sevilla link is based purely on a speculative piece by Betfair, plucking clubs out of thin air that could be interested in Morelos.
