BREAKING!!!!!! Daily Record goes OTT as desperation sets in over Ibrox ‘bound’ striker

If things are bleak at Ibrox then it is desperation stakes for the Daily Record.

Ross Stewart,Stephen Odey (Randers) and Thijs Dallinga (Excelsior) have all been hyped up as likely signings alongside the usual servings of bidding wars breaking out for Alfredo Morelos, Joe Aribo, Calvin Bassey and Glenn Middleton.

The focus over the last 48 hours has been on Antonio Colak of PAOK who is best known for killing off last season’s Champions League dream as 10 man Malmo progressed at Ibrox.

Low ball bids have gone in, and been rejected with PAOK quite clear that their asking price is 3m euros, around £2.5m of the £50m windfall that the Ibrox side picked up on the road to Seville.

The Record don’t normally follow PAOK on their pre-season tour but tonight was an exception. Team news that Colak wasn’t starting was enough to prompt the Record into their umpteenth good news story of the week.

Surely his exclusion meant that the striker was Ibrox-bound to join the galaxy of stars that he papped out of last season’s Champions League qualifiers?

Alas no. Colak was a second half substitute, PAOK won 4-0 and another shift closes without a feel-good signing to share with the Record’s army of readers.
