Celtic are reported to be showing interest in Stephen Odey of Danish side Rangers.Â
The striker has been on the move in each of the last three transfer windows, turning out for clubs in Belgium, Switzerland, France and Denmark with 10 league goals in 32 appearances for Zurich in season 2018/19 his best return.Â
At the age of 24 there is nothing particularly eye catching about Odey’s career to date but All Nigeria Soccer reports:Â
Scottish Premiership giants Celtic and Rangers are mulling over a move for Nigeria international Stephen Odey in the summer transfer window, allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report.Â
The former Mountain of Fire star has put himself in the shop window on the back of his form for Randers last season, with a goal involvement of fifteen (13 goals, 2 assists) in 32 all-competition appearances.Â
Celtic have approached Randers about the possibility of signing Odey and asked about their price tag for the 24-year-old, but the Hoops have not yet submitted a bid as of now.Â
Transfermarkt seem to have different stats to All Nigeria Soccer. Pairing the two Glasgow clubs together suggests a third party trying to generate interest with nothing especially impressive in Odey’s CV.Â
With Ange Postecoglou preferring a lone striker supported by two wingers Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis look set to compete for one place in the Celtic side next season.Â
Bringing in another striker who will be fit and ready to step in if Kyogo and Giakoumakis are unavailable looks like a tall order.Â
Daizen Maeda appears more purposeful on the left but could move into a more central role while efforts are likely to be on-going to find a club to take Albian Ajeti with the Swiss internationalist barely able to make the substitute bench in the second half of last season.Â
