Celtic ‘miss out’ on Bayern Munich midfielder

At the start of June it was being reported that Celtic were close to signing Christopher Scott. 

It seemed a long shot that a Bayern Munich reserve would be moving to Celtic where Ange Postecoglou has around seven first team ready midfielders with Liam Shaw and Scott Robertson hoping to get the chance to breakthrough. 

Ghana Soccernet was the original source of the story but there was no encouragement or follow up from Scotland with the story emerging at the quietest stage of the season. 

At 5pm tonight, alongside pictures of the player, at 5pm today Royal Antwerp tweeted: 

Christopher Scott is a RED! The attacking midfielder signs a contract for four seasons at the Bosuil! 

And so ended another Celtic transfer tale. 

Moving from Bayern to Royal Antwerp seems to be quite a downgrade but Scott gets regular first team football he will be playing in one of the most scouted leagues in football. 

Belgium football seems to be a real melting pot of talent, Celtic have been strongly linked with Lommel midfielder Vinicius Souza who impressed on loan at Mechelen last season.
