Vinicius Souza has updated his Instagram profile to that of a Manchester City player and shared a video clip which appears to have been shot in Manchester.
According to Transfermarkt and similar websites the midfielder is a Lommel player, spending last season on loan at Belgian side Mechelen.
Lommel are part of the City Football Group but the club managed by Pep Guardiola go to lengths to retain the independence of each club within the group.
Celtic have been strongly linked with signing Souza but with Ajax, Bologna and Fenerbache also keen the hoops will have their work cut out to convince the player and his club that a move to Scotland, even with guaranteed Champions League football, is the next stage in his career.
However if Souza is now a Manchester City player the transfer process could be easier with strong ties between the clubs seeing John Guidetti, Dedryck Boyata, Patrick Roberts and Jeremie Frimpong move north.
Ange Postecoglou is keen to get the bulk of his transfer business completed before his side travel to Austria next month, if Souza is down the road in Manchester the chances of joining Celtic are likely to have shortened.
