The Daily Record has turned to a 7-year-old for today’s feel good story for loyal bears.

Yesterday it was revealed that May circulation was down 2% on April with just 71,908 bears buying the Record despite the thrilling run to the final of the Europa League and the Laviegate follow-up.

With no sign of £25m bids coming in for Calvin Bassey and John Souttar the only part of the Gio Revolution the Glasgow based publisher has had to dig deep, fortunately they have come up with a story including an O** F*** twist.

This morning, the Record informed their army of readers:

Celtic-daft footballer Jack Reid has crossed the Old Firm divide to sign a youth contract with Glasgow rivals Rangers.

And his proud dad David is happy to put the rivalry to one side in the hope of seeing his boy take the Ibrox side by storm.

The seven-year-old, whose favourite Hoops player is Japanese midfielder Kyogo Furuhashi, wowed scouts while playing for local side Wishaw Wycombe Wanderers and signed for the Govan club on May 29 after a successful trial.

Jack, from Pather, has been brought up a Celtic fan, attending his first game when he was just 10 months old in 2015.

The Tribute Act are three years older than Jack.

Anything to try and make them look good and stick a knife in us, that’s how it is but still…pretty desperate stuff, even for that fud rag. They really know how to hit us where it hurts, eh? I mean this really takes the shine off of being straight into the CL groups without qualifiers, the CCV and Siegrist signings, the imminent arrival of El Nuttero, the forthcoming finalisation of the Jota deal, the report to the stock exchange that we’re going to be better off than previously expected, etc. etc. etc…I mean I’m aboot tae slit ma wrists here!

    Fuds.

Watching us signing players and they ain’t signing nobody when all these hacks were talking about a rebuild Ange Postecoglou style is making certain messenger boy hacks at that paper very annoyed and nervous

They were reporting with glee a month ago that they made more money than they would in the Champions League

Now all of a sudden they’re saying it makes more sense to keep the ‘ Experienced ‘ players

They’re just Parks media monkeys getting told to tell us all they’re signing ‘ Wonderkids ‘ etc and to churn out Celtic headlines with ‘ Flop or Snubbed or Blow ‘ in them to keep the orcs happy

That rag is just full of messenger boys , Gavin Berry , Andy Newport and David McCarthy to name a few

Keep signing Bhoys , ramp it up
