Manchester United are second favourites to sign Ryan Kent as the silly season gets cranked up a notch or two.

After getting nowhere at Liverpool it is quite a stretch to see the former Bristol City flop walking into Old Trafford to rack up at the locker next to Cristiano Ronaldo.

Following a season on loan at Ibrox in 2018/19 there was no interest in England for Kent who then moved to Ibrox on a four year deal after Steven Gerrard had brought Jordan Jones, Jake Hastie and Brandon Barker to the club.

Last season Kent scored two goals in the SPFL, the same number as Albian Ajeti and Odsonne Edouard, outscored by Tony Ralston and Cameron Carter-Vickers.

Covering his fantasy transfer prospects, The Sun reports:

RANGERS star Ryan Kent is attracting interest from south of the border. And Sky Bet have made Steven Gerrard’s Aston Villa his most likely destination at 2/1 ahead of Manchester United at 6/1.

Gerrard has already splashed out on Philippe Coutinho, Robin Olsen and Diego Carlos in preparation for next season.

While Man Utd’s spending is yet to get under way under new boss Erik Ten Hag. He reportedly has his eyes on bringing winger Antony with him to Old Trafford as his summer rebuild begins.

United weren’t included in the market for Kent last week and have been backed into second favourites to land the English winger.

Kent’s contract runs out next season and Rangers could look to land a decent fee for him this summer instead of losing him for free next year.

Wolves and Leeds come next at 12/1 and 14/1, with Leeds potentially looking to rekindle that interest.

In the 118th minute of the Europa League Final Kent was presented with a tap in to guarantee legendary status. He choked.
