Expectations over Antonio Colak moving to Ibrox are being reined in this morning.

A fee of around £2.5m would secure the PAOK striker but it seems that the cash-rich Europa League finalists are struggling to put a deal together.

Paying £2.5m over five years is a very different matter to three payments over 12 months, with their Credit Rating the Greek club will be looking for the majority of the fee to be paid up front.

On Wednesday Sky Sports and the Rangers Review tied themselves up over claiming a fee had been agreed but PAOK wouldn’t sell until a replacement striker had been bought.

That claim was shot down by various Greek sources who insist that a bid of £2.5m will ensure that the Croatian striker is jetting in for a tour around the world class training facility at Murray Park.

Chris Jack, Senior ‘Rangers’ Reporter at The Herald (a partner of The Rangers Review), reports:

RANGERS are determined to push through a deal for striker Antonio Colak as discussions continue with PAOK over their first signing of the summer transfer window.

Colak has emerged as a key target for boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst ahead of the new campaign but another day has passed without the move being signed and sealed by all parties in Glasgow and Thessaloniki.

PAOK initially set a price of £2.5million for Colak and the 28-year-old was a half-time introduction for their friendly fixture with Go Ahead Eagles on Wednesday evening as talks progress over a move.

That initial price remains in place. So far John Souttar is the only addition to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s squad, replacing Leon Balogun in defence.
