Mark Hendry is standing by his claim that Alexandro Bernabei is on his way to Celtic.
Last weekend the Football Scotland reporter broke the story of Celtic’s interest in the Lanus left-back with enough follow up through the week to suggest that the story has substance.
Bernabei has been left out of his side’s last two matches, has apparently travelled to Europe to get an Italian passport but according to Anthony Joseph his asking price has spiralled to £4m.

Celtic are in advanced talks with Dundee United keeper Benjamin Siegrist.
They’re also continuing their pursuit of Lanus left-back Alexandro Bernabei. The clubs have so far failed to agree on a valuation for the 21-year-old. Lanus said to be wanting around £4m.

Celtic have never signed an Argentinian player before, their last venture into South America was a loan for Diego Laxalt that most fans would rather forget.
Ange Postecoglou has expanded Celtic’s scouting horizons beyond Europe, with his track record in the transfer market there won’t be many question marks if he brings Bernabei to Scottish football.
With the pre-season training camp in Austria a fortnight away Celtic’s transfer activity is expected to step up with a permanent deal for Jota the priority.
