A year ago today Vissel Kobe enjoyed a 5-0 win over Yokohama F Marinos in a match that few Celtic fans would have bothered with.

Yokohama had recently lost their manager, Vissel had Andreas Iniesta in their side but the star of the show was an unknown quantity to Celtic supporters.

Goals in the 31st, 34th and 62nd minutes decided the issue, all scored by a certain Kyogo Furuhashi. A look at the video below reveals a very familiar style of play, a striker that instinctively finds space and knows how to place the ball in the net.

It is a style that fans in Scotland are now familiar with, last August Kyogo marked his first appearance at Celtic Park with a hat-trick, he decided the League Cup Final at Hampden in December and finished the season with a double as Celtic beat Hibs 6-0 on trophy day.

The new season starts next month, for Kyogo it covers the Champions League and World Cup Finals with fans in Scotland and Japan anticipating more goals from the smiling assassin.
