After exploring every possible angle- and failing to smoke out a single bid for Calvin Bassey or Alfredo Morelos- Ibrox Transfer Bingo has switched to Joe Aribo.

The midfielder is on the same deal as when he joined from Charlton Athletic three years ago with John Lundstram and Kemar Roofe taking home massively bigger pay packets.

With a year left to run Aribo and his agent hold all the cards, after running down his contract at Charlton they know the drill towards being a free agent next summer.

For no obvious reason Nottingham Forest appear to be the favourites to sign the midfielder.

After winning promotion to the EPL through the Play-Offs Forest are favourites to be relegated with a major overhaul required of a squad anchored in defence by Scott McKenna and Joe Worrell.

Bringing in an attacking midfielder is unlikely to be a priority for Steve Cooper who took over a club staring relegation to League One less than a year ago.

Adding some time served EPL battlers seems more likely than a luxury player such as Aribo, there seems to be very little mention of the Ibrox star in the English media about the former Charlton man.
