Sky Sports News have sought out the opinion of Tim Vickery over alleged Celtic signing target Alexandro Bernabei.

Over the last decade the Englishman in Brazil has been the go-to guy for many media outlets to get the inside story on all matters South American.

At the end of last week it was being reported that Lanus were looking for a fee of £4m for their left-back who is believed to have recently traveled to Europe to finalise an Italian passport.

I have not seen Bernabei for a while, but what is interesting about him is the first time I was watching him he was playing higher up the field as a left winger.

He has got that capacity to get into the penalty area and score goals. nice left foot, good with set pieces, quick, interesting.

And again, you wonder if he is going to get rolled over physically, but this to me looks like an intelligent piece of scouting.

I’m a sucker for a left foot, it just opens up the field so much if you have someone with a good left foot like he has.

With Celtic’s non-internationalists back in training on June 27 transfer activity is likely to step up over the coming week.

Interest in Mohaned Jeaze of Hammarby appears to have cooled off as Ange Postecoglou looks for competition to Greg Taylor at left-back,

Both Bernabei and Jeaze are out of contract next summer but with two months to run in the transfer window the clubs still have time to negotiate transfers before the countdown gets underway with pre-contract deals available from January.
