The home kit that the Ibrox Tribute Act will wear next season has ‘accidentally’ been leaked on the Sports Direct website owned by Mike Ashley.

Kit deals have been a long running sore for the Ibrox club with various attempts made to break away from the initial deal signed by founding father Charles Green.

Dave King went to war over a seven year kit deal only to pay £3m to lock the club into a new agreement that was breached in 2018 with a move to Hummel that that cut short a year early by the Danish firm.

Earlier this year an out of court settlement was reached, the lack of crowing from Ibrox sources suggests that it wasn’t in any way favourable.

Last week Connor Goldson and Steve Davis showed off a pale orange change kit when they signed contract extensions, today’s leaking suggests that Sports Direct are calling the shots in relation to kit launches.

On Tuesday it was revealed that the Competitions and Market Authority are investigating a price fixing cartel involving Elite Sports, JD Sports and the Ibrox club over price fixing in relation to the 2018/19 home shirt.

Mister King has told The Herald that the club is not guilty of any charge.

Sports Direct are the only high street outlet selling the high quality Castore kit, last season Newcastle United also switched their kit deal to Castore.

On a slightly tangential point – what happened to the five stars of unsurpassed dignity that used to sit on top of the grave robbed DeidCo club crest? Have Sevco finally given up trying (and failing) to convince everyone that a ten year old club has 50+ titles under its belt? ???
