Whatever the circumstances you can always count on the Sports Desk at the Daily Record.

Any announcement involving any club can be spun into good news for the Ibrox Tribute Act.

Haggling, penny pinching and dragging their heels over the 3m euro ‘chase’ for Antonio Colak apparently shows strength with PAOK upto nasty tricks to deny the striker his dream move to Ibrox.

We Never Stop isn’t a phrase that only Ange Postecoglou gets to use. How else can you explain turning Raphinha’s likely £60m transfer from Leeds to Chelsea into a ‘good news for bears’ story?

Simple, as everyone knows Leeds United are long term admirers of Ryan Kent, with £60m banked they’ll be back on the trail of Kent with a huge slice of Chelsea’s cash being used for Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s transfer war-chest.

Where do you start? Perhaps with the FACT! That Raphinha is a current Brazilian international, heading for the World Cup Finals in November as Kent books up another holiday in the USA.

Last season, for a team that just escaped relegation, Raphinha scored 11 goals in the EPL to add to the double that he notched for Brazil in a World Cup qualifier.

When it came to the biggest game of Leeds’ season their 25-year-old Brazilian never hid, popping up with the critical second goal away to Brentford to ensure another season in the EPL for the Yorkshire club. Four days earlier Kent missed a sitter in the 118th minute of the Europa League Final. When it went to penalties the former Liverpool starlet was hiding behind Aaron Ramsey.

Three goals over 46 appearances in five competitions is a horrendous record. It takes Kent four seasons to deliver what Raphinha manages in one.

Last season Kent scored twice in the EPL. Odsonne Edouard did that before the end of August then matched it in five minutes making his EPL debut against Spurs. Tony Rlaston and Cameron Carter-Vickers surpassed Kent’s SPFL total last season.

Even in the quest for clicks it is unlikely that any credible Leeds source is going to name Kent as a possible replacement for their £60m rated Chelsea-bound Brazilian.

Wasn’t it the previous manager Bielsa who was “interested” in Super man’s alter ego?
