Transfer guru Andy Scouding has walked out on Sevco.

After five years in the job the job the lure of Spurs has proved too much to resist- removing a key part of the Ibrox recruitment machine.

In November the lack of transfer funds saw Steven Gerrard quit for Aston Villa, Scoulding stayed on at Ibrox but has now opted to quit rather than face another transfer window assessing free agents and loan options.

The Sun reports:

TOTTENHAM look set to appoint Rangers chief scout Andy Scoulding. Spurs have moved for the man who helped rebuild Gers ahead of their return to the Champions League this summer. A deal is understood to be in place with Scoulding set to return south this summer.

Over the last three transfer windows there has been a virtual freeze on spending at Ibrox with no fees over £250,000 paid out for players.

At the same time Nathan Patterson has been the only significant sale leading to a stockpiling of players demonstrated by the contract renewals for Steve Davis, Scott Arfield and Connor Goldson. Talks are on-going for a new deal with 40-year-old Allan McGregor.

Star maker Ross Wilson remains in overall charge of all transfer activities.

Don’t know the guy but if he was their chief scout, no idea why Spurs want him…he’s hardly filled Sevco with stars has he?

  • Frankie says:

Maybe they should go for tonto as their new scout.
