Undergoing a medical- Anthony Joseph’s Celtic transfer update

Alexandro Bernabei will undergo his Celtic medical over the weekend according to Anthony Joseph of Sky Sports News. 

There has been a number of suggestions about the state of play over the transfer from Lanus to Celtic but it seems fairly certain that the defender is now in Glasgow. 

Bernabei was recently reported to have visited Europe but it seems that undergoing a medical ahead of joining Celtic wasn’t included in that trip. 

Joseph tweeted: 

With constant social media coverage the transfer does appear to be dragging out but with pre-season training not starting till Monday there are no real deadlines involved in Celtic’s first ever Argentinian signing. 

If all goes to plan Bernabei should be ahead of his new team-mates in terms of fitness having played as recently as Sunday for Lanus in the Argentinian League. 

Celtic will play two friendliest in Austria with their first competitive match coming on July 31 when Aberdeen visit Celtic Park to open up the SPFL Premiership campaign.
