Celtic are hopeful of getting a deal for Vinicius Souza over the line according to Football Scotland.
The dedicated football site of the Daily Record seems to have developed sources inside the club and were first to reveal Celtic’s interest in Alexandro Bernabei of Argentinian side Lanus.
Souza belongs to the City Football Group through their Belgian club Lommel but it seems unlikely that the midfielder will be turning out for that club next season.
Ajax and Bologna are reported to be interested in signing Souza on the back of last season’s performances on loan at Mechelen but it seems that Celtic are still contenders to sign the 23-year-old midfielder.
Dismissing the prospect of Alfa Semedo joining Celtic on loan, Football Scotland revealed:
Celts are, indeed, still on the hunt for another midfield option but Semedo is not one they are considering at this time. Vinicius Souza, previously on loan at Mechelen, is one they are hoping to get over the line but a deal has not yet been concluded for the Lommel enforcer.
Non-international players return for pre-season training on Monday, when Ange Postecoglou takes his squad to Austria a week later it is likely to include some new faces as the Celtic boss delves into his third transfer window.
