Alexandro Bernabei appears to have said his farewell to Lanus.

The defender has been heavily linked with a move to Celtic with most aspects played out through social media.

Despite being red carded for a head-butt on Sunday night in the home win over Colon it appears that the transfer is almost ready to be rubber stamped with an emotional video emerging of Bernabei saying goodbye to some of the Lanus staff.

Celtic have never had a player from Argentina before, Juninho and Rafael Schedit came from Brazil with Diego Laxalt brought in on loan during the lockdown season.

Greg Taylor was virtually unchallenged at left-back in the second half of last season but now faces competition from an Argentine u-23 international.

If all runs to schedule Bernabei should be at Lennoxtown for pre-season training next week and make his Celtic debut during the trip to Austria.

Joe McHugh has edited Video Celts since 2010, every day covering events in and around Scotland's most successful club.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.
