Giorgos Giakoumakis has completed an eventful season with an international goal for Greece against Kosovo.

The striker scored 17 goals in his debut season for Celtic, 16 since the turn of the year to earn a return to favour in the Greek national side.

Giakoumakis helped Greece to away wins over Northern Ireland and Kosovo but strikers always measure their contributions in terms of goals.

The striker sat out the midweek win over Cyprus but made up for lost time with a powerful front post header that put Greece 1-0 in front after 71 minutes.

Like all but one of his Celtic goals tonight’s effort was delivered with maximum efficiency- one touch.

At the turn of the year there were doubts over how Celtic would cope with Kyogo Furuhashi facing a few months on the sidelines.

The solution was in-house, Daizen Maeda popped up with a couple of goals but with 16 in four months Giakoumakis delivered the volume of goals that settled the destination of the SPFL Premiership title- and the guarantee of Champions League football in the autumn.

UPDATE: The match finished 2-0 to Greece with the second goal in the NINTH minute of stoppage time. The win leave them top of their group with four wins from four Nations League matches.
