Ange Postecoglou has welcomed two long term signing targets to Celtic.
Aaron Mooy has been known to the Celtic boss for a number of years since they teamed up with the Australian international squad.
Moritz Jenz was linked with Celtic a year ago but after a signing for Lorient he has joined the hoops on a season long loan.
With 12 days to go until the start of the new season Postecoglou has retained the bulk of last season’s double winning squad while making four additions ahead of Celtic’s return to the Champions League after a five year break.
Speaking to the club website, Postecoglou said:
I’m delighted that we’ve been able to bring in both Aaron and Moritz to the club, and I’m sure they’ll be great additions to our squad.
I obviously know Aaron from my time coaching the Australian national team, and he brings with him a wealth of experience at both club and international level.
Moritz is a player we’ve been aware for a while now, and I’m pleased that we’ve been able to sign him.
They’ve already had the chance to meet the rest of the squad, and I’m sure they’ll settle in very quickly into what is a very welcoming group of players, and I know that our supporters will be looking forward to seeing them both in a Celtic jersey.
Celtic take on Legia Warsaw tomorrow in a friendly with a home match on Saturday against Norwich City to complete their pre-season preparations.
There is the possibility of further adding to the squad but from previous comments it looks like incoming business is more or less completed.
Chris Jullien and Albian Ajeti could leave the club with loan options likely for a number of younger players such as Tobi Oluwayemi, Liam Shaw, Osaze Urhoghide and Bosun Lawal.
