Celtic’s B team open their Lowland League campaign with a match against Cowdenbeath at Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium.

With Stephen McManus now in charge of the B team, Video Celts understands that Tommy McIntyre has moved sideways leaving McManus and Darren O’Dea managing the B squad.

Owen Moffat and Ben Wylie are now too old to play in the Lowland League with loan deals expected soon to ensure that they get competitive football.

Celtic finished last season in third place on goal difference, after some politics another term has been agreed in the Lowland League but the lack of certainty going forward makes it difficult to plan ahead.

For the bulk of tomorrow’s squad six matches in the u-19 UEFA Youth League will be of more benefit with those matches completed by the first week in November.

After relegation from the SPFL Cowdenbeath lost all four League Cup ties, on Wednesday Donald Findlay’s side lost 3-0 away to FC Edinburgh. Like Berwick Rangers and East Stirling who have been demoted in the past it looks like the Blue Brazil are in for an extended time outside of the senior ranks.

Unfortunately tomorrow’s match kicks off at 3pm, the same time as the first team match against Norwich City.
