Reo Hatate is expected to be fit and available for Celtic’s friendly at home to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday.

The midfielder missed Wednesday’s 4-2 win over Banik Ostrava as Celtic signed off from a 10 day training camp on the continent.

Hatate joined Celtic in January, making an instant impact with goals at Tynecastle and in the Glasgow derby but tailed off as the impact of a swift move from the J-League to the SPFL took its toll.

Explaining the situation with the former Kawasaki midfielder, Ange Postecoglou told the Glasgow Times:

He had a slight knock. He played both games and the decision was made to leave him out and he will train again on Friday for Saturday

David Turnbull and Matt O’Riley joined Callum McGregor in midfield last night with Yosuke Ideguchi and James McCarthy appearing in the second half.

With the World Cup Finals in November Hatate has a huge couple of months coming up as he prepares for his first full season based in Europe.

When a six year stretch at the Sunday Mirror came to an end it was clear that the future was digital, print had ran its race.

Smart phones and social media created a new landscape, Video Celts has certainly made an impact with Joe described as having an unhealthy obsession by Peter Lawwell at the 2024 Celtic AGM. A priceless endorsement.

There are issues breaking around the clock, no two days are the same. More than 50 years on from his first match Joe is enjoying the ongoing successes of Celtic.
