Ange Postecoglou has ruled out Edouard Michut joining Celtic during this transfer window.
The Celtic boss is still looking to bring in two or three players but the 19-year-old Paris Saint Germain midfielder isn’t under consideration.
Celtic have previously taken Odsonne Edouard and Timo Weah on loan from PSG champions but there will be no extension of the French Connection before the end of August.
Asked about Michut after the win over Banik Ostrava, Postecoglou told the Daily Record:
Yeah, good player, but no. I have an interest in every good footballer in the world, but there is a limited market which I can tap into.
At the age of 19 with a handful of substitute appearances to his name the next stage of Michut’s development will involve regular first team football.
Postecoglou’s midfield is packed with a variety of options with David Turnbull and Matt O’Riley in impressive form during Celtic’s last two pre-season matches.
Signing a defensive midfielder in the mould of Vinicius Souza seems to be engaging Celtic’s recruitment team, as an attack minded midfielder Michut’s immediate future won’t be in the SPFL.
Where is Starfelt?
Editor: Got injured with Sweden, 50/50 if he will be ready for Aberdeen on July 31.
End of speculation, on two.
