Ange put on the spot over Ladislav Almasi speculation

Ange Postecoglou has neatly sidestepped speculation that Celtic are interested in signing Ladislav Almasi from Banik Ostrava.

The striker wore the number 99 in yesterday’s friendly match as Celtic flexed their attacking muscle with Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis both on the scoresheet.

Postecoglou has two very able strikers offering his side different options but there has been some suggestions that the hoops boss is looking for a third attacking option.

When Kyogo and Giakoumakis were unavailable to start last season’s Scottish Cup semi-Final Daizen Maeda moved into the centre but there was a clear edge missing from Celtic’s play.

Attracting someone of sufficient quality as a third choice won’t be straightforward but until the end of the transfer window, or a signing, the issue is bound to crop up.

After yesterday’s match Postecoglou was put on the spot with a very direct question from a local reporter.

Reporter: I have read some articles on Celtic’s interest in Ladislav Almási , could you please confirm or refuse this information?

AP No I don’t because I get asked these questions every day and there is a new player every day. We’re still working in the background and hopefully we’ll get some new players in.
