Argentinian football expert Roy Nemer has described Fausto Vera being linked to Celtic as interesting.

Ange Postecoglou is looking to bring in at least two new players during the transfer window but hopes of getting Vinicius Souza on board are over with the midfielder opting for a loan deal with Espanyol.

Signing Alexandro Bernabei was a move into a brand new market for Celtic with Argentina a prolific exporter of players to Europe.

Vera is under contract until December 2023, with a profile similar to Souza the Argentinos Juniors midfielder has been mentioned in dispatches with a move to Celtic.

Early this evening Nemer tweeted:

Interesting to hear that Celtic are being linked with Fausto Vera from Argentinos Juniors. They recently signed Alexandro Bernabei, Still only 22, the midfielder has represented Argentina at youth level.

The Cynic asked:

You think he’d be a good fit? We’ve guaranteed Champions League this season which could be a draw too.

Nemer replied:

I think he could do well. At 22, a move to Europe for him would be good. He was one of Argentina’s better players last year at the Olympics (that’s not saying much) but would be interesting to see him play Champions League.

Twitter user Mick R asked

Only Youth level and he is 22. ?

Nemer explained:

The Olympic team is up to 23 and he played for the younger teams!

Nemer runs the Mundoalbiceleste website and has over 1110,000 Twitter followers.

With Celtic two matches into their pre-season build up Postecoglou will be looking to step up transfer activity, building from a position of strength.

There are three weeks to go before the first SPFL Premiership match with the transfer window open for a full month afterwards.

Celtic have converted three loan signings into permanent moves and made two new signing, Bernabei and Ben Siegrist while losing Tom Rogic, Nir Bitton and Karamoko Dembele with Adam Montgomery, Liam Scales and Ismaila Soro moving out on loan.

Argentina league is fast so should be comfortable with angi style took players about ten matches to nail it but when they did the players enjoyed it they were still hiccups but this season should be better we have bought leftback but we have cover to give him time so he doesn’t upset the style I’m sure he will be a good signing need centre back that commands the box and can pass a ball without two touches julien good ball out to Kyogo for second goal but he holds the ball to much mc carthy looks like he’s pulling cart suppose to be there to give defenders out ball to slow to work angle I know it’s second game still think he’s a talent but has be at his fittest forest not expecting much till monies down he will hide the now his own full backs will expect no movement for him won’t be wanting the ball every friendly the same hard work for his own fullbacks he wont want ball I might be wrong but that’s what it looks like
