After a highly eventful year Kyogo Furuhashi is delighted to get pre-season training underway.

Twelve months ago the striker was virtually unknown in Scotland, today his smile and changing hair colours are one of the most recognisable features in the Scottish game.

While a threadbare Celtic squad were training in Wales last year Ange Postecoglou was hard at work completing a deal with Vissel Kobe to replace the EPL-bound goals of Odsonne Edouard.

After serving quarantine in London, Kyogo made a late substitute appearance in the opening SPFL Premiership match away to Hearts.

A week later Celtic fans had a new hero as the Japanese international followed up a goal away to Jablonec with a hat-trick on his Celtic Park debut in a 6-0 win over Dundee.

Kyogo finished the season with a double in the Trophy Day 6-0 win over Motherwell. In-between Matchday 2 and 38 there were plenty of highs including a Hampden double to win the League Cup against Hibs quickly followed by four months out with a serious hamstring injury.

With the benefit of all that experience there is plenty for the player and Celtic fans to look forward to in the season ahead.
