Boli Bolingoli is reported to be a transfer target for Reading.

The defender is in the final year of his four year Celtic contract but is unlikely to find his wages matched by the Championship club.

Last season Ange Postecoglou left Bolingoli out of his Europa League squad but played him from the start away to Livingston and Motherwell in the first part of the season.

A February loan move to Russian side Ufa coincided with the invasion of Ukraine with the defender returned to Celtic without kicking a ball.

Picking up on a tweet, The Reading Chronicle reports:

Reading are interested in Celtic left-back Boli Bolingoli, according to reports.

The full-back has been outcast from the Scottish giants after breaking Lockdown regulations in August 2020- causing a three match ban and a threat from First Minister Nicola Sturgeon to call matches off.

Since then he has had short-lived spells with in Turkey and Russia- playing less than 30 games between the two spells.

Bolingoli was signed shortly before Kieran Tierney was sold to Arsenal, almost from the start his Celtic career seemed jinxed.

Faced with Cluj at home after drawing 1-1 in Romania Neil Lennon dropped his new signing to the bench with Callum McGregor looking uncomfortable at left-back as Celtic crashed out 4-3.

Before Lockdown Greg Taylor and Johnny Hayes were competing for the left-back slot, why Bolingoli thought that he could escape scrutiny from a brief trip to Spain in August 2020 is one of many mysteries from a season that no-one could have predicted.

There was no threat she postponed two celtic games after ignoring the murray park fiasco. The whole affair stinks to high heaven.

    Another instance where Lennon failed.

Lennon was not right for Celtic that particular season and it was obvious. He did well in his previous spell, but by then it was obvious he could take the Club no further. He simply didn’t have the managerial make-up to hack it at Celtic.

Anyone who had been paying attention would have known this. He sacked Alan Thomson, one of his Seville team-mates and Johan Mjallby resigned before the end of the season. He obviously knew that there was no future in Management with Lennon!

He simply didn’t have the Managerial credentials to take the Club forward and it was there to be seen! Re-appointing him to entrust him with winning the Ten and was slapstick comedy at it’s very best. But it was not Celtic who were laughing! There was a joker in the pack and if you look up then you will see no further than the Chairman.

Everything that happened (or didn’t happen) that particular season can be traced back to him. Simple! He was the overseer, the man in charge. Nothing happened that season without his reckoning. He signed the season off and Celtic got what they deserved? Nothing! History.

Both Taylor & Hayes were much better.
