Four Daily Record reporters are tipping Celtic to finish the SPFL season in second place with the SPFL title going to Ibrox.

After picking up just 10 points from their first seven matches Ange Postecoglou’s side finished last season on a 32 match unbeaten run.

At the turn of the year Celtic trailed by six points, on February 3 they were a point ahead with 48 points out of 54 taking them to the title. The final winning margin was four points with the hoops finishing the season with a goal difference advantage of plus 21 over their city rivals.

All of that is fairly emphatic, of the 19 bookmakers on Oddschecker giving odds on who will win the title all of them have Celtic as favourites. The best odds on a Celtic title win is 4/6, for four Daily Record reporters they can have 13/10 from Ladbrokes or Coral on the title heading to Ibrox.

Star man Keith Jackson has bad news for Celtic with a second place finish. David McCarthy, Andy Newport and Gavin Berry go along with that. Live Sports Editor Berry tips the hoops to finish the season trophyless with the Scottish Cup going to Ibrox and the League Cup to Tynecastle.

Reporters like to stick their neck out at this stage of the season, after last season’s predictions they won’t cause Postecoglou any sleepless nights. They ae so irrelevant in 2022 that they won’t even be used for motivation- that comes from the training ground and dressing room.
