Graham Arnold has admitted that he hasn’t heard from Tom Rogic.

The midfielder missed out on Australia’s final World Cup qualifiers which ended in a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory over Peru to book a place in the Qatar Finals.

Rogic missed those matches due to personal reasons, recently he was reported to have turned down an offer to join Indonesian side Persija Jakarta.

The drama of their qualification route to the World Cup Finals in Qatar has captured the imagination of the Australian football community but the Socceroos boss is in the dark about one of his most experienced players.

Discussing his squad for two pre World Cup qualifiers, Arnold told Fox Sports:

I haven’t read anything, I haven’t seen anything … I texted him and didn’t get a reply. I am concerned about Tommy but I know the PFA are looking into it.

On the eve of Celtic’s final match of the season it was announced that Rogic and Nir Bitton were leaving the club.

Rogic was clearly emotional as he left the pitch in the 62nd minute with 60,000 fans showing their appreciation.

With European clubs returning to pre-season training it seems strange that Rogic’s future is still undecided. Last week Bitton signed a two year contract with Macabbi Tel Aviv.

Don’t think so. I take it as him being concerned about Rogic going silent. Sometimes it’s an indicator, when it’s out of character, that someone is struggling.
Also, he was right to encourage Tommy to go overseas to further his career. Australia is not able to provide that level of competition.

Hope Tommy finds a club maybe sign for a club in Australia wishing him all the best Cochice
