Michael Stewart has been named in a tweet from Ibrox after BBC Scotland apologised ahead of restoring ‘normal’ media access with the SPFL runners up.Â
Earlier this year Stewart tweeted an apology but made no reference to any football club.
A seven year ‘stand-off’ is set to end next week when BBC Scotland send a reporter to a media conference with Giovanni van Bronckhorst before the SPFL opener away to Livingston.Â
BBC Scotland have radio rights and a television contract with the SPFL that gives them exclusive pre and post match interviews with managers.Â
Ibrox fan Kenny Macintyre has revelled in the job of grilling Celtic, Hibs and Aberdeen managers after disappointing results, a complete different style of interview is expected with Mister van Bronckhorst.Â
With Macintyre and Steven Thompson presenting their flagship shows backed up by Tom English, Alasdair Lamont and Jane Lewis alongside guests such as Kenny Miller, Neil McCann, Mark Hately and Richard Foster the appearances of Stewart with the state broadcaster are expected to be very limited in the season ahead.Â
We acknowledge the recognition of past errors and the apology from BBC Scotland and the recent apology from Michael Stewart.
Reporting of football matches at Ibrox will recommence at the beginning of season 2022/23. https://t.co/guOOt3yOF3

270,000 BBC licences cancelled in the last year!
Rangers are my team, never hidden that. Be strange to have someone working on Sportsound that didn’t support a team.
As for Kris Boyd. I know at times he is a wind up merchant, but he talks up our game. Would he be in the Sky studio tonight if he wasn’t such a big personality?

There you have it. Reporting on racist chanting at Ibrox is apparently an error which must be apologised for.
If you ignore it or minimise it you enable it and are as culpable as the peepul who commit the racism.
Shame on all of them.
Why don’t all those diseased orange retards just wear a sash when they are at the neely dome, makes you fuckin vomit. HH
Only in wee Scotland it was a mistake reporting bigots and racists chanting and singing what a sad situation but then again the media in Scotland is full of bigots and racists so no big surprise.
