Football Scotland has claimed that Celtic are not looking to sign Jordan Larsson.

The 25-year-old striker is available as a free agent after negotiating his departure from Spartak Moscow.

After watching his Dad’s exploits with Celtic there is a very obvious connection between Jordan and the hoops but it seems that the relationship isn’t about to be strengthened.

A year ago it would have seemed the perfect match but with Kyogo Furuhashi and Giorgos Giakoumakis to select from Ange Postecoglou has two strikers that can make strong claims to be first choice in his strongest XI.

Updating Celtic’s transfer activities, Football Scotland reports:

It’s all gone quiet on Jordan Larsson in recent days. It was reported last week that Henrik’s son’s representatives had been in touch with the club over a potential move. The Swedish striker is a free agent after terminating his contract with Spartak Moscow due to the ongoing invasion of Ukraine that has saw many clubs see players quit.

Larsson knows Celtic well with his dad Henrik a legend at the club having spent seven years in Glasgow and scoring more than 200 goals. But there’s plenty of interest in the former Helsingborgs frontman.

The report said Nottingham Forest have also spoke to his representatives while other clubs from the English Premier League, Serie A and the Bundesliga are also hoping to persuade Larsson to join their club. Football Scotland understands, however, that Celts are NOT looking at the former AIK loanee.

Football Scotland were first to break the news of Celtic’s interest in Alexandro Bernabei with the defender signing on a £3.5m deal. It seems that the site, part of the Daily Record/Reach group, has established a credible source inside Celtic.

With seven weeks still to run in the transfer window there is time for things to change but it seems that Celtic are looking to strengthen other areas before adding another striker.
