Jota has highlighted the Ange factor in his decision to join Celtic on a permanent basis.

The long drawn out summer saga came to a spectacular end at 9.25 this morning when images and videos of the winger burst onto social media. In Celtic colours.

Ten goals and 10 assists contributed greatly to Celtic’s title success with many memorable Jota moments thrown in along the way.

It was deadline day last August that the winger swapped Benfica for Celtic, after a patchy September things started to fall into place in October as Postecoglou’s side took shape with the emphasis very much on attacking football.

That style was perfectly suited to Jota who told the Celtic website:

Ange has a philosophy of the game which wants us to be better in every training session and every game. So he aims for us to be better and better every week, and that’s something a player likes because there’s no point staying on the same level always.

You want to develop, you want to be better and you want to achieve others things, and in here at the club we’re ready for that and we’re getting ready for all the competitions ahead.

Pre-season is always a very important time for us to prepare for what’s ahead because during the season we don’t have the time to be meticulous about all our tactics or whatever.

So we need to work hard now because this will be the place until the end of the season, and that’s what we’re going to look for, to get the mind and the body ready for what’s coming.

It will be friends reunited on Monday as Celtic fly out to Austria for two friendly matches with the 2022 pre-season unrecognisable from the 2021 version.

With no distraction UEFA qualifiers or squad overhaul Postecoglou can get down to work as he prepares HIS squad for Season Two.

With a further improved squad than last season,

domestically, we should be too strong.

The CL could just be a learning experience this season – but a well paid experience.

    Exciting times ahead! 🙂

Great news and, watching that interview with him on Celtic TV, we now have not just a talented player, but also a very intelligent, humble, level-headed, yet driven young man on the books. Role model for others and, I imagine, a great influence in the dressing room. Certainly suggests that Ange wasn’t lying when he said he wanted good characters, as well as good players. Easy to see why Griffy was shown the door too.

A permanent welcome to Jota. Great news indeed, and well done to the club for getting it over the line. Really though this only takes us close to where we were at the end of last season.
Its still gonna be a tight challenge, so its who we get in from here that will widen the gap between us and the rankers. A big strong CD and solid DCM are desperately required to stop us being bullied in midfield and at set pieces by the caber tossers. However we’re moving in the right direction no doubt and I don’t think its greed to want to get in a couple more League securing signings
