Celtic’s B team were twice in front away to Spartans but had to settle for a point in their third Lowland League match of the season.

Bosun Lawal and Johnny Kenny were on target for the visitors but they were unable to hold on for three points against the Edinburgh side.

Owen Moffat came in for his first appearance of the season as Stephen McManus’ side looked to bounce back from Tuesday’s defeat away to Berwick Rangers.

Midway through the first half Bosun Lawal opened the scoring from close range but 10 minutes into the second half Cammy Russell equalised with a free-kick.

A 25 yarder from Kenny looked like giving Celtic full points but eight minutes from the final whistle Sean Brown equalised for Spartans.

Next up for Celtic is a clash with East Kilbride on Friday night at Airdrie’s Excelsior Stadium.
