Moritz Jenz is an injury doubt for Celtic’s SPFL opener against Aberdeen on Sunday.

Ange Postecoglou arranged a full scale practice match at Lennoxtown today with the on- loan defender picking up a knock and being unable to continue in the second half.

Jenz got half an hour of Saturday’s friendly against Norwich City but he will now be assessed by Celtic’s medical team to establish the extent of the injury.

With Carl Starfelt still out injured Ange Postecoglou looks like going into the Aberdeen match with three available central defenders, earlier today Osaze Urhogide joined Oostende on loan with Liam Scales already at Aberdeen.

Bosum Lawal played for the Celtic B team away to Berwick Rangers on Tuesday in the Lowland League but could be recalled to first team duty alongside Chris Jullien. Cameron Carter-Vickers and Stephen Welsh looking likely to start on Sunday after being paired together in five of the pre-season matches.

Yosuke Ideguchi was injured in training earlier in the week.

Steven Welsh is more than capable of playing against Aberdeen at Celtic park.
Played well in preseason friendlies. Young guy with a huge future ahead of him.
Ange seems to believe in him, so give him a chance… what a negative viewpoint for one of our young players. definitely not hopeless.
